Hey
presuming you mean the one at retro bar the other night? i was there for Eysaw \m/ mainly so wasn't paying much attention to anyone else (sorry - do excuse the ignorence).
from what i remeber, the first band were ok - loud and noisy, second one on rather undefined and a bit drab and depressing (Not too bad though), third one quite exciting though not my cup of tea, was upstairs most of the time for gradan, but Eysaw were f*cking amazing as usual. actually even better than last time i saw em at rterobar.

well i didnt actually see anyone other than ID so can't really comment! thought they did ok for a 1st gig, aside from the few mistakes which i noticed (only because i know the music for obvious reasons - these would not have been obvious to anyone else - other than the bit where jason turned round and shouted at chris!) the only criticism was the levels - guitar kinda murky and perhaps not loud enough (think j was using the small cube amp thing) compared to the bass, and we couldnt hear alot of the small drum thing and the circular spaceship shaped effort which is big and metal, and the 2 spaceship things attached to the pedal which clash together.
dont know if this is a sound engineer problem or something the band has to work out. alot of bands have difficulties at retro bar though.

yeah i walked into 2 a wall of noise which was the first band, to be honist i thought right upstairs bar! granted innerdemonics odd mistake didnt do them any favours but it was their first gig so cut them a abit of slack most of the problems were to do with the sound and the level of guitar and drums being a bit quiet.... whipcord are usually good but we couldnt stick around for them this time, eyesaw ive seen before as well and yeah they are tight and are doing well for themselfs around manchester, didnt see thme thistime but credit to them if they sounded good.... otherband dont didnt see/havent seen, cant comment gaz Hey presuming you mean the one at retro bar the other night? i was there for Eysaw \m/ mainly so wasn't paying much attention to anyone else (sorry - do excuse the ignorence). from what i remeber, the first band were ok - loud and noisy, second one on rather undefined and a bit drab and depressing (Not too bad though), third one quite exciting though not my cup of tea, was upstairs most of the time for gradan, but Eysaw were f*cking amazing as usual. actually even better than last time i saw em at rterobar.

ID were on 2nd i think. yeh i guess that's true although mistakes do happen even when you've played songs a million times without mistakes.

well i guess what you are saying about being ready for a gig is true, i understand where you are coming from with it... i dont really know if innerdemonic were ready or not but i understand the desire to play we got back on our feet in just amonth and a half affter jason left (lead singer from innerdemonic if u dont know) with a new set and sound!
i dont know, im not gong to speak for innerdemonic but jason is relativley acomplished (being in many bands) sonja and chris from what i know havent played as much so maybe nearves had something to do with it as well...
paul you would have liked it we they played a few classics!

Jase should have known the set backwards anyway with it being 80% Sanity Lost stuff

thats true, i did feel that redscar were slightly diffrent having rob's input but granted when you strip down the songs alot of the sound is going back to the old sanity lost sound we use to do, which is fair enough if thats the sound innerdemonic are affter.

I'm not talking about the sound, I'm talking about the songs being Sanity Lost songs.
If Jase makes a new band, chances are he'll play his previous band's songs as the set list and I've told him this to his face as well yet he'll say I'm arguing with him.

i think jasons is just quite set on the sound he is affter and his song seam to fit it, hes a good songwriter and has alot of material.... admitadly alot of it isnt to my taist, but jason could say the same bout the music i like/play..
i know what you are saying thought, music has changed alot over the past few years redscar were never around long enough to develop fully our own sound and setlist
