I was on the windiest, wettest, coldest and generally the nastiest checkpoint on the "Kinder Walk" It's a big scout race thing that I volunteer to help out with every year for reasons which are still completely unknown to me! My kite died horribly the year before last The wind ripped it limb from limb it was quite distressing! Having said that, the sun came out this year. I almost died of shock! Kinder's a mountain just South-East of Stockport, near the Barnsley border apparently.

yeh i know kinder scout. it's the highest peak in the area. yeh i can see how it might not be a nice check point to man. i think kinder scout is the windiest place on the earth!!! i remember last time i was up there it was so windy you couldnt breathe unless you put your hand over your mouth!!

It's bloody miserable! On the plus side though, I didn't get chased by sheep this year However, this is not a welcome sight at 7am : Pfffft. I ended up in about 3 pairs of trousers, fleeces, anoraks, camp blanket - the lot! Eeee it were chilly it were. And the wind decided to give me a minor afro.
