Aren't leaves incredible? Think my favourites belong to the Copper Beech tree. Purple on top but red if you shine light on beneath. Like this! What's everyone elses?

yeh autumn is the best time of year for trees!
but i think my favourite tree colour is the bluey-green fir tree colour. there's one near my work and i keep meaning to take a photo of it cos it's really weird but very cool.
sycamore trees can go a really odd purple colour too, which i really dont understand cos surely they need to p.synthesise but need to be green??!!!

Damn right! You've got to go to Scotland for Autumn sometime - namely the Isle of Arran. Crikey me...the valleys there are really quite something I don't think I've ever seen a bluey-green fir before...Hurry up with that photo! Maybe they survive on a similar principle to the ways trees do in winter? =S

Sweet! But who the hell in their right mind would cut down a tree like that? People worry me sometimes Hey is the species name the Blue Atlas Cedar?

No I think the tree I was talking about was Douglas Fir. It was certainly some kind of fir, anyway.
I'll find out if it's still there soon. I hope so it was friendly.

The Blue Atlas cedar does look remarkably like a fir However my lovely big tree book would agree with you.

i've just spotted a silver birch on my road. it's weird - all the leaves have turned yellowish brown apart from all the ones at the top of every branch, so it has kind of a rainbowy effect!
