yeh. most trees are devoid of splinters. except maybe hawthorn and blackthorn etc. not a good idea to hug one of those!!

yeh i still have scars from trying to put hawthorn trees through a chipper when i was working on the railways. needless to say i am now not the biggest fan of trees with thorns!
the only good thing was the satisfying crunch and seeing the nasty things come out of the other end in small pieces.

I just don't like thorns - many bad memories from picking blackberries...like, falling into the enormous bush *howls quite loudly* I fell out with chippers - the last one we had took sides with my Dad and just bullied me On the plus side, it's leaf kicking time soon!
